Founded in 2023, the oven formerly took life on ASU’s Blaze Radio as an on-air radio show titled HAWT FM. While it lives on in a different format, the blog’s mission remains the same – to showcase upcoming local Phoenix talent in the EDM scene, and to provide coverage to EDM events and shows, both small/independent shows and large festivals.

Meet the team
Pedro is the founder and executive editor of his passion project, the oven. He obtained a bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Mass Comms from the ASU Cronkite School of Journalism in 2026 and has been committed to uplifting local voices and exposing the public to diverse underground talent.
