Riddim group the Masquerade, comprised of 7L, Chango, VKTM, Inaktiv, Mongrel, Vicious, Sanzu and slyckz, made their EDC debut this past weekend, taking Deathpact’s spot on the festival lineup.

Deathpact announced last week they would be cancelling their EDC appearance due to illness, the first time the artist has ever cancelled a show.

The group played at the newly-designed bassPOD on Friday night.

Coming off hot from popular dubstep fest Forbidden Kingdom, the masked DJs did not hesitate to show EDC what they were capable of. Their full Forbidden Kingdom set is out now on YouTube.

FuntCase, Flux Pavilion and Doctor P – all veteran dubstep DJs/artists and Circus records mainstays – went b3b for the first time last weekend, taking attendees on a nostalgia-filled trip through their music.

Lots of new remixes and collaborations were debuted over the weekend.

San Holo, known for his “wholesome riddim” music style, debuted a collab with T-Pain at the mainstage, with San Holo playing the guitar on stage.

Heyz played out his new flip of Word Scramble over the weekend at the bassPOD, and Zedd brought out Knock2 for their new collaboration at the mainstage.

GRiZ and Wooli went back-to-back for the first time at kineticFIELD and debuted a new collab between Wooli, Illenium and Grabbitz.

Alison Wonderland played her remix of CRANK by Slayyyter and debuted an unreleased collab with trap artist WINK, a genre that was “lacking overall” in this year’s lineup.

Brownies and Lemonade teased a trap takeover in LA in the week following EDC on X (formerly Twitter).

The Masquerade’s new EP, The Second Act, is out now on streaming platforms.
